Irrigation season is just around the corner! In addition to making sure you pivot is properly maintained and ready to run at peak performance, it is just as important to review the safety guidelines for operating your center pivot.

The Reinke Electrogator II System is designed with many electrical and mechanical safety features including the following:

• Be cautious around the areas of your system that are marked with the Safety Alert Symbols as they indicate when there is a potential for personal injury.
• Electrically powered and gear driven irrigation systems move relatively slow and have many exposed moving parts. Vehicles, people and equipment should stay out the path of the system.
• DO NOT attempt to perform any maintenance procedures until the Reinke Main Control Panel Disconnect Switch and all Pump and other Disconnect Switches are locked in the “OFF” position.
• The Tower Steps have been provided for access to the Tower Control Boxes and are not intended for access to the span for nozzle repair.
• Keep away from the system during thunderstorms as it is a good lightening receptor.
• Protective guards should be installed on all belts and drive shafts of ancillary equipment such as engines, motors and pumps.
• If you suspect a short circuit or the system is not working correctly, do not touch the system. Call our Service Department for repairs.
• Avoid any bodily contact with high pressure water streams from sprinklers and end guns.
• Be sure to use the appropriate size of replacement fuses.
• Be careful not to spray water on the county roads causing a hazard to motorists and could be punishable by law.
• Make sure your auto-Stop or Auto-Reverse mechanism is working correctly and the tower barricade is properly installed per the operators manual.
• Keep away from driveshafts.
