StarFire™ iTC Position Receiver and the next generation of Parallel Tracking
 
 
This new, more-affordable "hands on" guidance system is an all-makes, all-model solution for your operation. Parallel Tracking uses the StarFire iTC receiver and our exclusive, FREE SF1 signal. You get accuracy of about a foot pass-to-pass - an excellent starting point for tractor, sprayer, and combine guidance.
 
"The new parallel tracking system will be a more economical system to help producers get started with guidance technology," says Gordon Culp, division manager marketing, John Deere Ag Management Solutions. "The basic package includes the three common GreenStar™ components and a Parallel Tracking Key Card, providing a manual guidance system at a very economical price. This system can be used on any tractor, sprayer, combine, or any other machine with a 12-volt power source."
 
 
Parallel Tracking guides the operator through the field, and while the operator steers the tractor, the display keeps him on a straight or curved path. New or used equipment, any make or model, can use the system.
 
"We’ve currently priced the entire Parallel Tracking system for a GreenStar-ready vehicle at $4495.00. This will help growers who never considered using a guidance system to try this new technology," explains Culp. "Some will be able to get into the new Parallel Tracking system for less money because they already own a GreenStar display for yield monitoring, SeedStar™ display for population monitoring or SprayStar™ display for sprayer controls.
 
"Furthermore, we’re going to offer our SF1 correction signal to StarFire iTC users at no cost. The SF1 signal enables us to offer a free, worldwide correction solution in areas where a government signal is not available."
 
Scalable Accuracy
And, when you’re ready to move up to hands-free AutoTrac, simply upgrade your StarFire iTC receiver to the more accurate John Deere SF2 or StarFire RTK signal - there's no need to purchase a new receiver (or a whole new system). One receiver, three levels of accuracy - that's "scalable accuracy" for guidance you and your operation can grow with.

"For someone who would like to try a guidance system without a substantial financial investment, this would be the introductory system," says Culp. "Then if they are pleased with what the new technology can do for their operation, they can upgrade at any time to a more advanced satellite guidance system."
