Elmira Farm Service began in February of 1955 with the opening of its first store on Church Street in Elmira where the store still stands today, albeit expanded with a number of improvements over the years. The founding father of Elmira Farm Service was Emerson Brubacher. Emerson worked hard over the years to build the reputation of Elmira Farm Service as not only a provider of quality farm equipment but also for being one of the best dealers in Ontario providing parts and service to the customer. As John Deere began to widen its customer base by offering new product lines, so too did Elmira Farm Service.


Over the years, as John Deere expanded into areas such as lawn care equipment, toys and merchandise, Elmira Farm Service expanded with them by offering their customers new products and services that they needed. However, the core values established by the founder continued through this expansion and remain today: to provide quality equipment, and outstanding parts and service with fairness and integrity. Elmira Farm Service prides itself on being able to offer a wide inventory of parts, toys, merchandise and equipment so that our customers have choices when they come to any of our stores. These core values are evident at all of the five locations located across Central Ontario.


Elmira Farm Service of February 1955 evolved into Elmira Farm Service (1981) Ltd. In 1994, we purchased the dealership business located at our Ospringe store. Elmira Farm Service (2000) Ltd. was formed in February of 2001 with the merger of Elmira Farm Service (1981) and L.M.S. Equipment Inc. (started in 1988 as a new dealership after acquiring the previous dealership business). Our Listowel dealership's history and lineage trace back into the early 1950s. In 2005, Elmira Farm Service (2000) Ltd. assumed full ownership of Dave Holliday Limited, a two-store dealership with locations in Mount Forest and Shelburne.
