Harrisburg Announces Master Certification Employees
The Harrisburg Fisher Farm & Lawn is proud to announce that 15-year-employee Dale McClain has successfully completed the Master Parts Manager Program from John Deere University. He is the second employee at that site to attain this level of certification, joining James Gentry.
Master certification requires 150 hours of credits through John Deere University. McClain completed the program over the last six years. In honor of his accomplishment, he received a plaque and a John Deere leather jacket—but that’s not why he pursued this program, he says. It was, instead, because he likes to learn new things every day, things that will help him understand the needs of his customers and equip him to meet those needs. In addition to this certification, McClain holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
James Gentry came to Fisher Farm & Lawn 16 years ago with an Ag Tech degree from Boise State University and many years of experience as a technician with New Holland equipment. He, too, enjoys learning. “I read tech manuals like people read novels,” he says. His love of learning is a perfect fit with Fisher. Gentry explains, “They expect us to step outside the box and be innovative, generating ideas and using our knowledge and skills in new ways.”
Harrisburg salesperson, Dick Langdon, says that having certified employees lends confidence to their operation. “Internally,” he says, “we have confidence in each other, and externally, our customers have confidence that the work we do for them will be done correctly—the first time.”
“I’m the luckiest guy in the world to work with people like Dale and James” Langdon says.
