Serving Our Customers For 33+ Years
On March 1, 1974 owner Vernon Keith opened the doors of General Equipment Company to the farmers of Warren and Dekalb counties. With the help of dedicated employees and loyal customers his new business grew quickly. In 1982, General Equipment began selling John Deere Lawn and Garden Equipment, along with compact diesel tractors. Starting in November of 2000, further expansion occurred when General Equipment began carrying the John Deere Skid Steer Loader. Today, General Equipment company continuously strives to meet the growing demands of agriculture, consumer, and nursery equipment needs. The tradition of General Equipment company is to meet and exceed your expectations with the best built equipment available, a reliable service department, and a well-stocked parts department.

Worldwide tractor name and numbering
The new tractor numbering convention received a very positive response from participants in this year's introduction meeting held in Denver. However, differences between Ag and C&CE approaches warrant further clarification. Both Ag and C&CE tractors will now advertise metric (ISO) engine horsepower per the International Organization of Standardization 97/68/EC standard for determining bare engine horsepower at rated engine speed. Because some compact utility tractor (CUT) engines are set to a fraction of one horsepower, the advertised horsepower on some models is actually rounded up to the next whole number for use in new tractor numbering convention. For example, the new 3032E Tractor has an advertised hp of 31.4. Larger Ag tractors with horsepower levels of three digits or more may at times be rounded up to a number ending in either a 0 or a 5. As an example, the 6140D actually has 138 hp which is called out in the advertising literature for the 6D Series. Above diagram deciphers new model numbers For this reason, the second, third, and fourth digits of the new naming convention are intended to be "approximate engine horsepower" and not absolute tested horsepower. When citing the exact power level of a tractor, always reference and refer a customer to the horsepower specification listed in the appropriate advertising literature.
