OKANAGAN AG & TURF (KELOWNA) ACQUIRES GREENWAY EQUIPMENT IN KAMLOOPS

Okanagan Ag & Turf (2005) LTD has recently purchased all of the operating shares of Greenway Equipment Ltd of Kamloops. From now forward, both operations will operate as Greenway Equipment.

Greenway Equipment has been a respected John Deere dealership in Kamloops, BC for over 30 years and Okanagan Ag & Turf is proud to take on the name along with the respect and strength that comes with it. Brian Crowley, President of Okanagan Ag, (now Greenway Equipment) says “this was in our business plan when we first bought Okanagan Ag three years ago. We just had to bide our time while we waited for Fraser Morrell to decide he was willing to sell his business, no easy decision after working with loyal staff and customers that long” “ It will be our goal to try and provide reasons for this same loyalty to continue for many years to come”

“At a time when the world economy is a little shaken, we still believe that expansion in agricultural, landscaping, hobby farms and lifestyle is solid. The merge of the two businesses will ensure that the organization will remain strong and viable; it will position us for continued long term growth in the future. The support of John Deere with its 172 year history is also reassuring. By following Deere’s model to merge dealerships to assure sustainability and growth is sure to be the way of the future.

The new territory is fairly expansive. The new Greenway Equipment will be will be well known from the US border at Grand Forks to Princeton, and north to Vanderhoof and then east to Prince George. “Basically the entire interior” Crowley explains. “Our customers are as diverse as the territory. We service orchards, dairy farms, ranches, vineyards, lawn and garden and hobby farms. While this will be a challenge, the broad customer base and solid customer support will allow us to have more mobile service trucks, equipment transport trucks, and larger facilities. “

Customers can expect access to a larger combined parts inventory, and a more diverse inventory of new and used equipment. The sales, parts, service and management team will have more combined experience to better meet customer requirements.

“We intend to continue to attract a high quality work force looking to join a strong team with a focus on the future. The physical size of the new combined footprint in the BC interior will also provide better security and opportunities for our employees. The higher volume and larger scale will overall permit us to be better at what we do. Over the next few months efforts will be directed in combining the strengths of each location to develop a more efficient operation. The result will be an even stronger customer-focused dealership” Crowley stated.
