Ready to Mow 12 Point Inspection
A look at the illustrations below identifies the checkpoints our John Deere Ready To Mow technician will cover. The specially designed trailer is outfitted with a:
  • lift
  • blade sharpening wheel
  • generator
  • and parts for purchase
 
Riding Mower
  1. Inspect belts for weat, adjust tension.
  2. Clean engine compartment.
  3. Replace spark plug(s), adjust gap.
  4. Inspect or replace air filter.
  5. Check battery voltage and continuity.
  6. Change and dispose of oil and replace filter.
  7. Grease axle and mower spindles.
  8. Test operation of brakes, carburetor, transmission.
  9. Sharpen blades. check balance and straightness to avoid vibration.
  10. Clean built-up debris from under mower deck.
  11. Test operation of safety systems.
  12. Check tire tread and pressure.

Walk-Behind Mower
  1. Wipe off deck and engine shroud.
  2. Clean fuel vent cap.
  3. Inspect or replace air filter.
  4. Inspect or replace spark plug, adjust gap.
  5. Clean built up debris from under mower deck.
  6. Change and dispose of used oil and replace filer (if equipped).
  7. Check blade brake clutch.
  8. Lube rear axle bearings.
  9. Clean clippings and debris from mower and belt area. Replace belt cover.
  10. Inspect mower blade, sharpen or replace if necessary.
  11. Check blade for balance and straightness.
  12. Test overall operation of the mower.
