1770NT Planter Awarded No-Till Product of the Year

The John Deere 1770NT Planter was awarded the 2006 "No-Till Product of the Year" at the 15th annual National No-Tillage Conference, held January 2007 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The readers of No-Till Farmer magazine cited the top three products that made the greatest impact on their no-till programs in 2006. The nominations were scored on the basis of first, second, and third place votes in determining the overall product rankings, with the John Deere 1770NT Planter ranking the "best of the best."

The John Deere 1770NT family of planters feature either MaxEmerge XPTM or Pro-Series XPTM row units. These planters provide outstanding seed spacing accuracy, depth control, and seed-to-soil contact for superior germination. The planter offers a narrow transport width for maneuvering along tight country lanes and bulk seed filling for more efficient no-tilling.

For accurate and efficient seed metering, mechanical or vacuum metering options are offered. Both frame-mounted and unit-mounted row coulters are available along with a wide variety of pesticide application options. Variable-rate drive and seed tube monitoring systems let growers easily adjust seeding rates and utilize GPS for improved planting accuracy.

What readers say:
"The pneumatic down pressure feature on my 1770NT planter easily adjusts from the tractor cab and provides more down pressure options than you will ever find that you need." — Kenneth Wisehart, Shirley, Ind.

"The single-disc fertilizer openers provide efficient fertilizer placement with minimal soil disturbance." — Grant Troop, Quarryville, Pa.
